Attila Ökrös was born in 1990 as the second child of the world renown cimbalom virtuoso, Oszkár Ökrös. He began to play violin at the age of 6.
In October 2015, he won absolute 1st prize at the „Paris Grand Prize Virtuoso” international music competition. According to that, 2 months later he played as a soloist at the Paris National Opera.
In February 2016, he won 1st prize at the „American Protege” international music competition where he got invitation to the Carnegie Hall, where he performed as a soloist in April 2016.
In April 2016 he won 1st prite at the „eMuse” international competition in Athens. The same year he recieved the scholarship of the Hungarian National Talent Program In April 2017 he was selected as the only hungarian participant of the Leonidas Kavakos International Masterclass in Athens. Currently he is professor of the „Vienna Konservatorium Budapest”
At the age of 11, he was admitted to the Franz Liszt Academy of Music’s preliminatory class for special gifted children. His teacher was Natalia Chernogolovkina. At his student years he was invited to such festivals like the „Collegium Musicum”, „Talentinum”, „Santander” or the „Ravello” festival, where he had opportunity to work together and share the stage with such musicians as Natalia Gutman, Martha Argerich or Elisso Virsaladze. In this period he had opportunities to perform as a soloist with Miklos Szenthelyi and the Hungarian Virtuosos Chamber Orchestra at the Hungarian National Hall, and the Great Hall of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music.
At 2011 he finished his Bachelor studies in the class of Miklos Szenthelyi. At 2014 he finished his Master studies in the class of Valery Oistrakh at the Royal Academy of Music, Bruxelles. After his graduation he was guest concertmaster for 1 year at the „OSSLA” symphonic orchestra in Mexico
